Who we are.

We live in a small town in Castile, Spain. I studied Philosophy for several years before moving into app development, though long before I even knew how to code, I already had the idea of building an app to manage my library and keep track of my reading.

More than a decade later, the experience I’ve gained as a developer, together with what AI makes possible today, has finally allowed me to turn that perennial idea into something tangible, real.

Bookgeist is the result of months of work, design, testing and many, many revisions. And I feel it’s only the beginning.

We have plenty of ideas for how it can grow, but also one fairly clear intention: to build something with an identity of its own, with its own “Geist”. An app made by someone who loves books, for people who also find something special in reading them, in owning them, in weighing them in their hands, in turning their pages. People who want to live their books, remember them, be shaped by what they read, and share the soul that rises from them.
